Patricia Angus, JD, MIA, TEP, is Founder and CEO of Angus Advisory Group LLC and an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University. A recognized thought leader in the field, she has provided legal and strategic advice to global families and firms with multi-generational businesses, trusts, and charitable foundations, for over two decades. She is the author of The Trustee Primer: A Guide for Personal Trustees and writes the Building Bridges column on www.wealthmanagement.com.
Ms. Angus practiced law at trusts and estates boutique Hughes and Whitaker (now Day Pitney) and Coudert Brothers international law firm (now Baker & McKenzie). She was Principal and Chief Wealth Advisory Officer of Shelterwood Financial Services LLC and Family Wealth Advisor at GenSpring and JP Morgan Private Bank. Since the early 1990’s, she has worked with many of the world’s wealthiest families in the US, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.
In 2012, she launched the Family Enterprise and Wealth MBA course at Columbia University Graduate School of Business and has mentored students from around the world on how to navigate the family enterprises in which they live and work.
She currently serves on Advisory Boards of Trusts & Estates, the Carter Center, and the NYC Family Enterprise Center. She is a member of the Society of Trusts & Estates Practitioners (STEP) and the Family Firm Institute. She served on the Editorial Advisory Board of Campden’s Private Wealth Management and on the original Governing Board, including serving as Chair, of the Collaboration for Family Flourishing, as well as the New York Women’s Foundation Allocations Committee and Citizens Committee for Children of New York’s Advocacy Council. She has written numerous articles on topics including family wealth, businesses, trusts, estate planning, philanthropy, and women’s issues, and frequently speaks at industry and family events.
Ms. Angus has been named one of the Top 50 Women in Wealth Management by Wealth Manager, a Rising Star by Private Asset Management, and is consistently included in multiple Leaders List categories, including the Top 100 North American Wealth Advisors, by UK-based CityWealth. In 2015, her firm, Angus Advisory Group, was named Finalist, Family Business Advisor of the Year by STEP, a worldwide professional association of those advising families across generations.
She received a B.A. cum laude from Amherst College, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
Christina Ho specializes in crafting communication and online marketing strategies for the firm, leveraging her experience building engagement within communities and networks. She previously spent seven years at the Institute for Private Investors, a membership organization for investors, family offices and multi-generational family enterprises, programming educational forums and events. While there, she also launched a new cohort for next generation family members and oversaw development of the online membership portal. She is a graduate of The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Lois Wannen provides bookkeeping and administrative support to the firm. She received her B.S. degree in Finance from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She served as proposal manager and financial analyst for Electronic Data Systems, Inc. (EDS) and specializes in small business accounting systems, online sales, and payroll administration.
